Naza Agape Foundation in collaboration with Nigeria Youth Parliament. In commemoration of the International Women’s Day, #IWD We spoke on sensitization to over #hundredgirls (100) girls in Government Secondary School Chwelnyap, Jos and distributed #Free #sanitarypads to 35 girls.
We arrived at 10:00am to the school. Opening prayers, welcoming and introductory speeches were made by the Naza Agape team leader, the principal of the school, and the Nigerian Youth Parliament member representing Plateau North.
Farmicit had a talk on the importance of the international women’s day in line with the theme of the program which was “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
After that, the representative of the Nigerian Youth Parliament taught the girls how to make use of a pad, and also how to dispose of it after use. A quiz competition was held, after which Lydia spoke on feminine #hygiene and #menstrualhealth . A session for questions was held in which the students wrote down relatable questions that were read out and answered by the volunteers.
We took pictures with the students, and also some of their staff that were present. The program was ended with a word of prayer.
It was a successful, and very enlightening outreach for both the students, and volunteers.
