The “PAD A GIRL” project is aimed at distributing at least two thousand (2,000) sanitary pads, to girls in rural communities every year, and teaching the girl child on good hygiene.
So far was have distributed free reusable sanitary PADS to about 350 girls in rural communities and still counting. We have gone to three Government Secondary School in Plateau state Nigeria and still counting.
The schools are Government Secondary School Riyom, Government College Foron and Government Model Secondary School Pankshin.
We have educated about 700 girls on hygiene and the use of reusable sanitary pads and still counting. Our target is to reach 2,000 girls in rural communities every year.
We discovered that most girls, especially those in rural communities find it difficult to consistently buy sanitary pads every month.
Some, go as far as using rags and unhealthy materials to sustain them all through their period. This causes lots of health complications in the present and future.
Therefore Naza Agape foundation came up with an initiative to give FREE reusable sanitary pads to girls in rural communities, thereby helping them overcome such challenges.
Reusable pads are eco-friendly and can be used for at least 6-8 months, when maintained well.
